Darren Criss is set to join “Glee” as a cast member.
His character, prep schooler Blaine, was introduced last week as a mentor to Chris Colfer‘s Kurt.
Criss sang a cover of Katy Perry‘s “Teenage Dream” that had the highest number of first-day downloads in the show’s history.
Producers will have Criss continue to appear on the series this season and may be signed to a long-term deal.
